Polymarket US and polymarket.com are two different things
Polymarket now has two platforms, and it matters which one you’re on. Polymarket US (polymarket.us) is the app for Americans. It runs on QCX LLC, which the CFTC lists as a designated exchange since July 2025, and trades are cleared by Polymarket’s own clearinghouse. polymarket.com is the older international site, which runs on crypto and says plainly that it isn’t regulated by the CFTC. It blocks trading from the US and points you to the US app, and accounts on the two don’t share a balance.
Everything below is about Polymarket US.
Fees
The fee changed on October 1, 2026. Takers, meaning anyone whose order fills straight away, pay 0.0695 × contracts × price × (1 − price). On a $100 trade at 50¢ that’s 200 contracts and a fee of $3.48, against $3.50 on Kalshi. The difference is small, but Polymarket also pays makers. If you set a price and wait for someone else to fill it, you get a rebate instead of paying a fee. Withdrawals are free.
Some review sites still quote the older 5% or 6% rate. Those numbers are out of date.
What you can trade
The US app covers sports, politics, crypto, weather, tech, culture and economics. You can build combos of 2 to 10 picks, where every pick has to win for the combo to pay. Combos have their own, higher fee formula, and from October 7, 2026 makers no longer get a rebate on them.
Deposits and withdrawals
Polymarket US takes more payment types than most apps: debit card, bank transfer (ACH), Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, USDC on iPhone where it’s offered, and wire. Card and bank deposits can be used straight away in some cases, but they take 3 to 4 business days to fully clear, with a $50,000 daily limit. Wires need at least $5,000 and land in a business day.
Withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with, oldest deposit first, and card and ACH withdrawals take 3 to 4 business days. Polymarket doesn’t state a minimum deposit for card or ACH, or whether it charges to deposit.
Sign-up offer
Polymarket US gives $25 in promo credit for depositing $10 or more, but only to people who see the offer through a specific onboarding code or link, so you won’t get it by signing up directly. There’s also a refer-a-friend offer that pays $25 to both of you after the friend deposits $10. Promo credit can be traded but never withdrawn as cash.
Where it’s available
You need to be 18 and of legal age in your state. We couldn’t find an official list of states where Polymarket US is blocked or where its sports contracts are off. Other review sites mention Nevada and Massachusetts, but Polymarket hasn’t confirmed that on its own pages, so check the app before you deposit. We’ll add a list when Polymarket publishes one.
The app and support
The iPhone app has a 4.6 rating from about 60,000 reviews, while the Android app sits at 3.5 from about 13,600, so Android users seem to have a rougher time. Support is in-app chat and email ([email protected]), with no phone line.
Who it suits
Polymarket US is a good pick if you want to pay by PayPal or Venmo, or if you place orders and wait for a better price, since that earns a rebate. If you want the best-rated app with the most markets, Kalshi costs about the same and rates higher on both app stores.
